CARVING – SKI LESSON
By
This doctrine is an key to figure for middle skiers. It should assistance people that have not detected the corner nonetheless to find this feeling. The main idea at this theatre is to get the tyro NOT to spin his feet and slip but carve. To grasp this i am regulating some-more inside ski lead and hip opposite than required as this creates the rolling of the knees easier. Once the tyro realizes that the skis spin all by themselves these things have been marked down to the volume necessary. Instead of removing the tyro to corner by desire – “leaning in” i highlight the elemental simple position. As i wish to learn a technique that is unchanging and functions on the sadness in the same approach as on the black runs. The main ski fundamentals have been described in item in the 3 main lessons of the DVD. Furthermore you will find lessons on skiing the steeps, short turns and fourteen one more drills: “Sofa Ski School – From Blue to Black Diamond” 84minutes of ski direction 3 sign cards for the slopes FREE worldwide shipping right away accessible worldwide on: www.sofaskischool.com .

gah the winter olympics make me wanna go skiiing and this makes me want to even more.i thought i was an intermediate at carving but wow im pretty amateur.i was only turning one knee in and the other one was straight like you would turn in hockey, and i didnt know you have to lean away from the turn a bit because i was turning into the turn and barely falling over.thanks for this.

wow, this does not only look great, but it helped me finding out about better turns and bends.
Last weekend I took another skiing lesson and the trainer told me to move all my weight on to the leg that is down the hill, i.e. outside the bend. I really had problems with that and felt uncomfortbale and sometimes unsafe. Now I know why. Your technique definitely makes sense and I’l try it next time

I’ve been having junior racers do this same drill but instead reach their opposite hand across the body to steer the knee. It seems to open the hips and orient shoulders down the fall line more. Comments?

That’s how I teach my students (2:40min)! They’re almost immediately doing it right and are pretty amazed by the feeling of such turn:)

Thanks huwowen93 for bringing that to my attention…as many times I have seen this vid, I damn near split my gut laughing this time. I can honestly say I have been there! By the way, the vid is great and can’t wait to give these techniques a go.
