New study claims Lake Ontario fishing on decline (October 2009)

In Oswego, the salmon are biting and some fishermen are reeling them in. But a new study from Cornell University [funded by New York Sea Grant] predicts a troubling future for fishing around Lake Ontario. “There’s been a general national trend in the decline in fishing and outdoor recreational activities in general and that may be influencing what’s going on in Lake Ontario,” said Nancy Connelly (aid in this October 2009 clip from Syracuse’s News 10 Now). The study bases its prediction on data collected since the 1960s, including the number of fishing licenses sold and the amount of trout and salmon stocked in the lake each year. They forecast the area could lose as much as $19 million by 2012 if current trends continue.

Anyone have any good travel companies that were reliable, safe, and affordable? By safe and reliable, I mean I won’t be scammed.
